Latvia reveals audition tapes for Supernova 2019!

The Eurovision selection process is well and truly underway in Latvia, with the nation’s broadcaster revealing the 33 participants and their audition tapes.

Last week, the Latvian national broadcaster LTV held the second round of auditions for the upcoming edition of Supernova, the selection process the nation uses to select their Eurovision entrant. A total of 33 artists and groups took part in the auditions, including a few familiar faces. At a later date, the artists that will compete in the semi-finals will be announced.

Some of the notable names within the list are Markus Riva who has consistently participated in the Latvian national selections, but has not yet made it to Eurovision – maybe this will be his year? The list also includes familiar names Samanta Tina, Miks Dukurs and Edgars Kreilis.

Aminata has also returned as a songwriter, having written the song ‘Fireworks’ for Alekss Silvērs.

This year the People’s Jury is returning to help select the semi-finalists. On the LTV website, fans can vote for or against an entry. Voting will close on the 30^th of November at 11:00 CET.
